Learn to Swim
Swimming lessons for your baby at an early age is one of the best things you can do for their development and health. Swimming can be lifesaving skills as well as an amazing way to stay active and healthy, making an aquatic education program all the more important. After you complete the STAmark programme, you can download your logo to display to customers as proof that they have been recognized as high standard independent swim schools by the STA. Certification costs just PS85 and can be purchased in your FREE STA Online account under “Programmes & CPDs.”
Learn to Swim kids programs offer year-round tuition for your children to quickly advance through levels at a quicker rate. Coaches in the pool work alongside them, teaching them first how to breathe before submerging themselves face down in water for 5 seconds of flotation before breathing again.
Baby Swimming Lessons
Star Swim School strives to teach your children to be safe in the water and to foster an interest in swimming. Their experienced and highly-trained instructors use all their expertise and knowledge in every lesson, providing your kids with rapid progress towards mastering swimming quickly and confidently. All lessons take place year-round in an indoor heated to 90 degrees with saltwater rather than chlorine pool water for increased skin, hair, eye health as well as reduced environmental impact.
Baby classes provide an enjoyable and stimulating way for babies to become familiar with water environments, and gain confidence around it. In addition, classes strengthen reflexes and build strength which have long-term health advantages such as stronger immunity systems and healthier hearts, lungs and muscles.
Tadpole classes also help build strong bonds between your baby and caregiver as there is ample skin-to-skin contact during each lesson. Tadpole is designed for babies aged 6 months to 3 years; once they graduate from Tadpole they will be ready for Swimboree!
Parent & Child Classes
Parent & Child classes provide an ideal environment for both parents and children to come together while developing water safety skills. We have two levels of this class available to students aged 6 months through two and a half years old: Seahorse is our introductory lesson designed specifically to introduce young swimmers to swimming; here they’ll learn to float comfortably on both their belly and back, submerge under water safely while subseming in full to subdiving underwater for moves such as front crawls, jumps and crab walks practiced regularly!
Once students are old enough, we can separate them from their parents and place them into our Guppy level. This age group provides invaluable lessons on water safety habits that will keep them safe in later years. Guppy 1 group helps students learn to blow bubbles, glide and roll with assistance while floating on their bellies or backs; further practice includes submersion, front crawl, jumping with assistance as well as “crabby walks” using edges of pools to reach safety.
Stroke Development is open to students of any age who desire a challenging endurance and speed experience with an eye toward preparation for swim teams. We teach this level all year round in order to provide consistent training, providing students with the chance to move through each level faster.
Adult Classes
Adults who never learned how to swim may never regret not learning it earlier; now is never too late to start learning! Beginning regular lessons at the pool can build your confidence in the water while equipping yourself with an invaluable life skill. For experienced swimmers looking for ways to refine their technique and gain new strokes while increasing endurance enrolling in adult classes is an invaluable way of expanding your repertoire and refining your technique.
